In
1996, state of the art digital platemaking technology was acquired which
once again underlines the Company’s mission to continually improve
quality and service. The CREO 3244 Thermal Platesetter, images plates
directly from digitally stored information bringing a new level of accuracy
and quality to the plate making process. Equipped with the latest fully
automated Kodak thermal plate processing line, maximum plate production
speed is achieved. In 1997, a second Creo Platesetter was added to provide
100-percent backup for the primary system, and to be used as a development
platform for new and evolving workflow. Commercial’s early commitment
to this cornerstone technology has enabled the company to move a vast
majority of its customer’s work into a high quality digital mode.
A five-terabyte automated tape library is utilized to provide centralized
storage and security of all digital job information.
Sophisticated electronic prepress capabilities enable
Commercial to accept digital layout and design files from virtually
any computer platform, including Windows, Mac, and Unix. A wide variety
of media formats and electronic file transfer are supported.
